Six students of Siliguri Hindi High School
for Girls were injured this morning as they tried to hurry down a
school staircase in panic, mistaking a loud thud next door for an
earthquake.
All of them are under treatment.
“Around 9am, some
students, attending classes in the first floor (of the three-storied
building) were seen rushing towards the staircase fearing an
earthquake,” said Bhaswati Chakraborty, teacher-in-charge of the school.
